Job description

If you're looking for an opportunity to build, influence, and make a visible impact, we'd love to speak with you about joining Schleich USA, Inc. as our Senior Director, Global eCommerce. Based in Charlotte, NC, this hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) reports directly to the President of Schleich North America and plays a key role in shaping the future of our global digital commerce business.

Why This Role?

This is a rare opportunity to own and shape a global eCommerce strategy within a growing organization where your ideas can quickly become reality. Unlike larger companies where responsibilities are often divided across multiple teams and layers, this role offers broad ownership across strategy, platforms, customer experience, and digital transformation. If you're energized by building capabilities, leading change, and seeing the direct results of your work, you'll thrive at Schleich.

Why Schleich?

We offer a competitive benefits package including 6+ weeks of paid time off; FREE medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents; 401(k); parental leave; tuition reimbursement; professional development; employee discounts; and a casual, collaborative office environment. Join an international toy company with more than 90 years of heritage, sold in 70+ countries and loved by children and collectors alike.

General Description

The Senior Director, Global eCommerce is responsible for developing and executing Schleich's global eCommerce strategy across both Business-to-Business (B2B) and Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) channels. This role provides strategic leadership for our digital commerce ecosystem, ensuring scalable platforms, outstanding customer experiences, and sustainable growth across global markets. Reporting to the President of Schleich North America, this leader partners closely with global and regional stakeholders while leading a team based in Charlotte and Munich.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead Schleich's global eCommerce strategy across B2B and D2C channels.
  • Create multi-year roadmaps and investment plans that support profitable growth.
  • Drive platform optimization, customer experience improvements, and digital innovation.
  • Lead and develop a global eCommerce team, including oversight of the Director of Global D2C.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, IT, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to deliver business objectives.
  • Utilize analytics and market insights to drive strategic decisions and performance improvements.
  • Champion a customer-focused, digitally driven, AI-enabled culture across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in eCommerce or digital commerce.
  • Experience leading both B2B and D2C eCommerce strategies and operations.
  • Proven success managing global teams and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience with Amazon 1P or another major online retailer.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce platforms, analytics, customer experience, and digital technologies.
  • Exceptional communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Digital Commerce, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (approximately 15%).
