The Orthodox Union (OU) is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol,, is found on the labels of manykoshercommercial and consumer food products.

Position Summary:

The Orthodox Union is seeking motivated fall interns to join our innovative team in 2026. This year, we are focused on leveraging the latest AI models and cutting-edge technologies to build solutions that streamline operations and drive meaningful impact. As an intern, you will collaborate with our tech team and fellow interns to design, develop, and implement AI-powered tools that serve the global Jewish community.Please note that this is an unpaid opportunity.

Duration:October 12, 2026 - February 5, 2027

Schedule: Minimum 25 hours/ week (non-negotiable) during Monday-Thursday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM; timing accommodations available
Location:Remote with twice-monthly office visits required

Responsibilities:

  • Develop AI-powered applications to optimize operational workflows
  • Write clean, efficient code using Node.js andPython for backend logic and AI integration
  • Build dynamic, user-friendly interfaces using Vue.js
  • Collaborate with team members to identify challenges and propose creative tech solutions
  • Continuously learn and experiment with emerging technologies
