Internship Hunting Industry information

What are internship opportunities in the hunting industry?

Internship opportunities in the hunting industry typically involve working with companies or organizations focused on wildlife management, hunting gear manufacturing, conservation, or outdoor recreation. Interns might assist with fieldwork, marketing, event planning, customer service, or research projects related to wildlife and habitat management. These experiences provide valuable hands-on learning and networking opportunities for those interested in outdoor careers, conservation, or the business side of the hunting industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an intern in the hunting industry, and why are they important?

To thrive as an intern in the hunting industry, you typically need a background in wildlife management, environmental science, or a related field, along with a strong interest in conservation and outdoor activities. Familiarity with GIS software, field data collection tools, and safety protocols is often required. Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills help interns collaborate with diverse teams and engage with stakeholders. These skills and qualifications are crucial for supporting fieldwork, promoting ethical hunting practices, and contributing effectively to conservation initiatives.

What are some common challenges faced when searching for an internship in the hunting industry?

One common challenge in securing an internship within the hunting industry is the relatively limited number of formal programs compared to other sectors, which often requires candidates to be proactive in networking and reaching out directly to organizations. Additionally, many positions are seasonal or located in rural areas, so flexibility with relocation and scheduling is important. Applicants should also be prepared to demonstrate a strong understanding of conservation principles, as well as a respect for ethical hunting practices, since these are highly valued in the field.

Job description

Thereโ€™s a reason HUNTER is recognized as a PRWeek Best Place To Work and has been named PRovoke โ€œConsumer Agency of the Yearโ€ not once, but twice: At HUNTER, we EARN IT โ€” consumer attention, the trust and loyalty of clients, and the dedication of our staff, currently 350+ strong and counting.

HUNTER is seeking an organized, creative, ambitious, and detail-oriented recent college graduate to join the agency as a Business Development Coordinator. The Business Development Coordinator will work closely with the agencyโ€™s New Business team, reporting up to the Chief Marketing Officer, supporting all aspects of the process from initial research on prospects, to organizing and drafting agency credentials materials, scheduling meetings, and updating status documents.
