Join our team as a Manufacturing Analyst Intern!
The Role
We're seeking a motivated Manufacturing Analyst Intern to join our Operations Planning team in Summer 2027! This internship offers hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations by analyzing and improving the Operation Plan-a critical planning tool used to determine manpower requirements based on forecasted production volumes and the mix of truck models. You'll collaborate with Operations, Production Control, Industrial Engineering, and Manufacturing leadership while developing analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills that will help launch your career.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Analyze the current Operation Plan to understand how manpower requirements are determined based on production volume and truck model mix.
  • Document the current planning process, including key inputs, assumptions, calculations, and decision points.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and usability of the Operation Plan through data analysis and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Production Control, Production and Manufacturing Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to validate findings and develop improvement recommendations.
  • Present project findings, proposed solutions, and expected business impact to manufacturing leadership.

What We're Looking For
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and formulas.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to interpret data and communicate findings clearly.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in Columbus, IN, for the duration of the Summer 2027 internship.

What Sets You Apart
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, SQL, or other data visualization and analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Toyota Production System principles.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
