Job description

This role supports the planning, design, and documentation of complex healthcare environments, ensuring safe, compliant, and highquality hospital facilities. The position requires a strong architectural foundation and hands-on healthcare design experience to deliver accurate construction documents and maintain critical campus infrastructure records.

Develops and documents design solutions supporting ongoing healthcare and hospital remodeling projects. Produces and coordinates construction documents across architectural, interiors, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, with an emphasis on healthcare environments and regulatory compliance. Maintains and advances institutional building and campus CADD/BIM databases and facilities records. Develops and updates building and infrastructure drawings to support maintenance, renovations, and future planning.

Supports the development and application of facilities design standards, reference standards, and general specifications under the guidance of architects and engineers. Serves as a technical and design resource on facilities-related issues, including healthcare codes, standards, and best practices. Acts as a key technical resource for CADD/BIM software, hardware, databases, and production tools. Participates in technology implementation initiatives and provides guidance to Facilities teams. Leads quality control efforts and provides mentorship, technical direction, and workflow oversight while managing a high-volume workload independently.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma + 2 years of post-secondary technical training in CADD/BIM and 8 years of experience in architecture, engineering, or construction; OR Bachelor's degree including CADD/BIM coursework in architecture, engineering, construction, or a related field and 6 years of related experience
  • 5 years of healthcare or hospital design experience required
  • Preparation for, or progress toward, professional licensure preferred

Technical & professional skills:

  • Strong architectural background with solid understanding of building systems, materials, construction techniques, and healthcare facility requirements
  • Working knowledge of life safety codes, building codes, and healthcare design standards, with the ability to apply them to complex design conditions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and produce construction documents, details, and specifications for healthcare and institutional buildings
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, and related design and documentation tools
  • Ability to manage heavy workloads, meet tight deadlines, and maintain accuracy and quality standards

Qualified applicants will submit a resume, which includes a 1-5 page list/summary of healthcare related projects. Five years of related healthcare design experience is required.
