Job description

As a Corporate Marketing and Event Management Consultant, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of CME Group events and brand initiatives in both domestic and international regions. This contract position will sit within the International Events Team and will play a key role in promoting CME Group's overall image on a global scale across all major audiences through events, corporate initiatives, sponsorships and conferences.
Principal Accountabilities and Job Requirements:
  • Plans and executes CME Group events and conferences both in-person and virtually, delivering world class events to meet business goals and objectives of internal stakeholders.
  • Actively measures and communicates event success through post event feedback and reports, identifying key learnings and improvements for repeat events.
  • Manages multi-currency event budgets and invoice processing ensuring events are delivered within or under budget.
  • Ensures brand standards are consistently applied across all digital and physical event assets.
  • Acts as a liaison and builds and maintains relationships with various suppliers, industry organizations, exchanges and affiliate partners.
  • Works with our in-house creative team to develop event invitations and other branded assets to promote events.
  • Manages event rsvp lists and client data in event campaigns according to GDPR regulations.
  • Proactively researches venues, event concepts and best practice.
  • Represents CME Group at relevant events.

Skills and Software Requirements:
  • Proficient in Google Workspace or equivalent; Cvent (or alternative Event management Software) Salesforce, Marketing Cloud
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Great team player, able to build strong working relationships across all areas of the business
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic team environment and juggle diverse/multiple projects
  • More than 3 years of experience in corporate financial event management
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong attention to detail, planning and decision-making skills including the ability to effectively negotiate pricing and contracts to ensure costs are managed and deadlines are met
  • Ability to travel as required including site inspections and onsite support. May include evenings and weekends.

The actual pay offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education and comparison to internal consultants or employees (where relevant). Please note that while this opportunity is for a consultant role dedicated to CME, the consultant will be directly employed by a third party vendor, which would provide pay and benefits.
