About ANIME Impulse
ANIME Impulse is one of North America’s most vibrant pop culture festivals, celebrating the best of anime, gaming, cosplay, and digital creators. As part of the IMPULSE Universe family of live experiences (including K-PLAY! FEST and Collectors Expo), we’re building a high-velocity merchandise ecosystem that extends fandom beyond the event, from exclusive convention drops to global retail distribution. We are actively expanding our footprint through major IP licensing collaborations, partnering with top anime studios, video game publishers, and general lifestyle brands to curate unique, high-demand capsule merchandise collections that resonate deeply with the masses.
The Role
We are looking for a high-performing, growth-minded Merchandise B2B Sales & Distribution Manager to spearhead our commercial expansion and push our exclusive product lines into new, untapped channels. This is not a passive logistics role, we are looking for a strategic hunter and relationship builder who can aggressively secure new wholesale distributors, pitch to major retail partners, and scale our B2B sales footprint globally.
In this role, you will own our distribution pipeline, manage key commercial accounts, and negotiate high-value agreements to ensure our products move with maximum velocity. If you have a proven track record of smashing sales targets in the consumer products, toys, or collectibles space and know how to open doors with big-box and specialty retailers, we want you on our team.
What You’ll Do
  • New Channel Acquisition & Territory Expansion: Identify, pitch, and close new wholesale distributors, specialty brick-and-mortar chains, big-box retailers, and international distribution partners.
  • Account & Relationship Management: Serve as the primary commercial contact for our distribution network across assigned territories, nurturing relationships to maximize order frequency and volume.
  • Deal Negotiation: Lead commercial discussions, structure profitable pricing tiers, and negotiate distribution agreements and contract terms that protect gross margins.
  • Sales Forecasting & Revenue Ownership: Own your quarterly and annual sales targets. Provide data-driven sales forecasts, analyze territory performance, and track product sell-through to optimize market demand.
  • Cross-Functional Launch Synchronization: Partner with IP Licensing, Design, Sourcing, and Marketing teams to coordinate major product launches, ensure stock readiness, and align promotional push strategies.
Who You Are
  • A Proven Closer: You have 5+ years of experience in wholesale, consumer goods, toys, collectibles, licensing, or retail sales with a verifiable track record of driving revenue growth.
  • A Master Negotiator: You are deeply comfortable navigating distribution agreements, vendor routing guides, and wholesale pricing structures.
  • Relationship-Driven: You possess exceptional presentation and communication skills, capable of pitching high-concept IP merchandise to corporate buyers and executive distributors alike.
  • Data & Tech Savvy: You rely on CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) to manage your pipeline and have strong analytical skills to forecast demand using Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Fandom Savvy: You understand the subcultures of anime, gaming, and pop culture. You know why a capsule collection matters to fans and can translate that hype into a compelling pitch for retail buyers.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Pipeline Growth: Number of new wholesale distributors and retail accounts signed.
  • Revenue & Margin: Total B2B revenue growth achieved while maintaining targeted gross margins.
  • Velocity: Account retention rates, average order value (AOV), and retail sell-through performance.
  • Operational Precision: Sales forecast accuracy and territory market expansion metrics.
Bonus Points
  • Existing relationships with buyers in the pop-culture, anime, toy, or specialty retail ecosystems.
  • Experience managing international distribution networks or navigating customs and overseas freight requirements.
How to Apply
Send your resume and a short cover letter detailing your most successful B2B sales or retail distribution launch, highlighting how you opened the channel and the revenue generated.
