Role Overview:

Could you be our nextInformation Security Intern? We are currently seeking anInformation Security Internto join the Globe Life team for Summer 2026!

In this internship role, you will be responsible for providing cross-functional support to teams responsible for threat management, enterprise security architecture, and risk management. The Information Security Intern assists in maintaining and enhancing governance documentation, analyzes cyber threats, and contributes to the development and refinement of policies, standards, and control requirements.

This position offers hands-on exposure to how organizations identify risks, translate them into actionable security controls, and govern their overall cybersecurity posture.

This is anon-site position located in McKinney, TX.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist in reviewing, updating, and organizing security policies, standards, and control documentation.
  • Support risk assessment activities by gathering information, mapping threats to controls, and drafting summaries.
  • Participate in evaluating how policies and standards mitigate threat scenarios.
  • Contribute to the creation of simple security metrics and reporting dashboards.
  • Research and summarize regulatory topics and industry frameworks for the risk team.
  • Assist in analyzing basic threat intelligence outputs.
  • Provide administrative and project support for information security programs.
  • Support process documentation: maintaining the SharePoint repository, improving templates and processes, and organizing artifacts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Can Bring:

  • Current undergraduate student with a declared major in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Knowledge of basic cybersecurity concepts (CIA triad, common threats, and controls).
  • Basic understanding of risk management fundamentals (vulnerability, likelihood, impact, and risk).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001).
  • Understanding of the purpose of policies, standards, and controls in reducing risk.
  • Ability to research and quickly learn new cybersecurity topics, regulations, and frameworks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid documentation skills, including accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Analytical thinking skills - ability to connect high-level threat information to real-world risks and governance requirements.
  • Basic data handling and reporting skills (Excel, Word).
  • Work effectively in a professional team environment.
