About this opportunity:
Temporary football coach for Ball State University.
This position is an hourly position at $8.25 per hour.
What you'll do and what you'll bring:
Position Function
Assist in all phases of the Ball State University Football program, including coaching support, academic monitoring, recruiting coordination, and operational assistance. This position contributes to the overall organization, efficiency, and success of the football program by supporting coaches and staff with daily administrative, analytical, and logistical tasks.
This is an hourly position at $8.25 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Coaching and Program Support
  • Provide assistance to offensive, defensive, and special teams coordinators as assigned.
  • Conduct film breakdown, data input, and playbook creation.
  • Support practice preparation, including setup, drills, and execution logistics.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating playbooks, scouting reports, and other technical materials.

2. Special Teams Support
  • Assist the Special Teams Coordinator with practice organization, data collection, and self-scout reports.
  • Help monitor personnel participation and assist with quality control reviews.

3. Recruiting Operations
  • Provide recruiting assistance as assigned by the Recruiting Coordinator.
  • Support official and unofficial campus visits, including scheduling, logistics, and hospitality.
  • Assist with transportation and on-campus logistics for prospective student-athletes.
  • Support prospect camp operations and data tracking.
  • Monitor and help organize transfer portal activity and recruiting database management.

4. Academic and Student-Athlete Support
  • Assist academic liaisons and SASS staff with class checks, academic progress updates, and communication with assigned student-athletes.
  • Perform attendance checks for mandatory team activities such as meetings, meals, and curfews.
  • Support student-athlete development initiatives as assigned.

5. Technology and Analytics
  • Utilize film and data systems (e.g., HUDL, Catapult, Teamworks) to support scouting, self-scouting, and performance analysis.
  • Assist in data compilation and presentation for game and practice evaluations.

6. Equipment and Operations Assistance
  • Provide support to equipment operations staff, including practice setup, gear organization, and transportation of team equipment.
  • Assist with travel logistics and gameday operational needs as assigned.

7. Other Duties as Assigned
  • Perform additional responsibilities as determined by the Head Coach, coordinators, or Director of Football Operations to support the efficient operation of the program.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree
2. Coaching and/or playing experience.
3. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the University's Auto Fleet Policy.
