Key responsibilities

  • Produce market notes and pricing views, and present them to sales traders and management.

Job description

We are looking for a junior quantitative trading analyst who is eager to make a direct impact to our growth journey. If you have both strong quantitative modelling skills, as well as a commercial mindset and a natural interest into trading, this is the role for you.

You will be analyzing various environmental commodity markets and provide input on how these markets behave and where they will move in terms of demand and pricing. You will serve both our New York and Los Angeles desks from day one, with regular collaboration and travel between offices as the role develops.

About OTC Flow

OTC Flow is an environmental commodity trading firm with offices across North America, Europe, and Asia providing trading liquidity across the world's major renewable energy and environmental markets, directly trading with market participants across the entire renewable energy value chain.

What you will do

- Build and maintain trading models for the various environmental commodity markets we are actively trading, including but not limited to clean fuel markets across the US;

- Track the regulatory and policy developments that move these markets, and translate them into clear numerical impact;

- Turn public and internal data into structured, usable datasets that the trading desk easily apply;

- Produce regular, concise market notes and pricing views, and present them directly to sales traders and management;

- Sit with the desk, not apart from it, flagging opportunities or risks, and provide your view on the market dynamics as you see them;

- Support deal structuring with market -and pricing insights as transactions come together.

What you bring

- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, or another quantitative field, Master's degree is strongly preferred;

- Strong Excel/spreadsheet modeling skills; comfort with SQL, Python or similar coding tools is a must;

- The commercial instinct to make your analysis land, with the motivation and soft skills to pitch your findings and have them turned into action proactively;

- Comfortable working independently with real ownership from early on. This is not a rotational or shadowing program, but instead an opportunity to become a major driver of our growth across the US;

- Strong written and verbal communication โ€” you are the translator between raw data and trading decisions;

- Experience building data models from scratch is a must. Prior (internship) experience within a similar role across the energy, commodities, - or environmental space is a big plus.

What we offer

- Direct exposure to live trading decisions, where your models and findings feed into real action by the trading desk, ensuring impact early on;

- Exposure to our full US trading operations, working on various markets simultaneously being exposed to our teams based both in Los Angeles and New York;

- Mentorship from sales traders and senior management across multiple desks from day one;

- A young, fast-growing team where analytical work is genuinely valued by the commercial side, with a very steep learning curve guaranteed;

- Competitive remuneration package including benefits (medical, dental, vision) and paid time off in line with local requirements.

Compensation

Base salary of within a hourly rate of $22.50 - $27.50, plus a discretionary bonus tied to individual and desk performance.

How to apply

Apply directly on LinkedIn and our team will be in touch shortly.
