Job description

Ignite Your Passion for Diagnostics in a Scenic Waterfront Community
Overview
Imagine a role where every day is an opportunity to engage your passion for science and patient care in a dynamic laboratory setting. We are looking for a Medical Lab Technician who merges curiosity with meticulous skill. In this full-time, day shift position at a thriving community hospital nestled in a vibrant waterfront town, you will play a pivotal role in delivering life-affirming diagnostic solutions. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals, all while benefiting from a comprehensive rewards package designed to enhance your career and personal well-being.
Your Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine and sophisticated clinical laboratory tests-spanning chemistry, hematology, immunology, and more-adhering to established protocols with precision.
  • Evaluate test results for precision, troubleshoot discrepancies, and ensure the optimal functioning of lab equipment through regular maintenance and calibration.
  • Support specimen collection and prepare samples for analysis as needed.
  • Meticulously document all procedures, provide training for new staff or students, and help maintain the highest quality standards in the lab.
  • Ensure a clean and secure work environment while adhering to all regulatory and accreditation mandates.
Preferred Education
  • A Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, or an equivalent allied health degree, with preparation for ASCP/AMT certification.
Required Certifications
  • Successfully obtain ASCP or AMT Board of Certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) within the first year of employment.
  • Keep certification current throughout your tenure.
Essential Skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with healthcare personnel.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and problem-solving capabilities in fast-paced or high-pressure scenarios.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in quality control processes and documentation.
Benefits on Offer
  • Competitive salary based on your experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive, market-competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • Generous time-off policies from day one, plus vacation and holiday credits for experienced hires.
  • Continuing education opportunities and robust support for professional growth.
  • A rich total rewards package designed around your overall wellness.

Be the Catalyst for Change in Patient Care
In this role, your analytical skills will significantly influence patient outcomes. Each slide you analyze has the power to confirm diagnoses or detect imbalances before they escalate. Your diligence ensures that healthcare providers can depend on the accuracy of your work each and every day.
A Collaborative Environment Awaits
This position offers more than a job; it invites you to join a close-knit community. You'll engage in regular team meetings, skill refreshers, and quality improvement initiatives designed to foster a collaborative atmosphere where your insights are valued. You'll have the chance to participate in committees, suggest improvements, and guide newer members as they integrate into the team.
Discover Life in a Coastal Gem
Picture living in a charming coastal area, where the sound of waves meets tree-lined parks and vibrant local markets. Picture farmers' markets brimming with fresh produce and artisanal goods, all accompanied by a lively arts scene. Local cafes serve as gathering spots where discussions range from seasonal weather to community issues. Days off can be spent sailing on the bay or relaxing at a local beach festival. Here, the community is inviting, supportive, and interconnected-attributes that define the fabric of healthcare in this area.
Take advantage of local boutiques, hiking trails, and cultural attractions, along with a hassle-free commute that makes balancing life much simpler in comparison to bustling urban centers. With affordable housing, your paycheck can go further, paving the way for enriching experiences-be it rooftop gatherings, weekend getaways, or lively sporting events.
Creating Impact and Excellence
In this coastal community, every lab technician serves as a vital component of public health. You'll witness how your contributions lead to quicker diagnoses, superior patient care, and ultimately, healthier lives. A simple thank-you from a patient or physician reflects the deep appreciation for your critical role in the healthcare continuum.
Embrace a Journey of Growth and Connection
Are you looking for more than just a salary? If you are motivated by a sense of purpose, personal development, and a chance to make a real difference, this position is calling your name. Whether you are a recent graduate or a seasoned professional, the opportunities for growth and meaningful experiences are abundant.
Ready to Start Your Next Adventure?
Join a role where your keen eye meets a community that cherishes empathy and innovation. In a place where every lab result tells a story of healing, if you are passionate about a position that rewards accuracy, teamwork, and a commitment to care, we eagerly anticipate your application.
