Job description

Material Handler (Forklift Driver)- Production

Job Description and Responsibilities

Performs functions directed towards successfully and efficiently meeting packaging goals for customer orders by supplying materials and ready-to-package products to the Packaging lines, and finished goods to the Warehouse.ย ย Other related duties assigned as required by the production manager/supervisor.

Entry Pay Rate: $19.50 per hour. Shift Differential paid for off shifts.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends if necessary.
  • Operate Forklift to move product from production to packaging and from packaging to Warehouse.
  • Supply empty pallets and materials to pack lines as needed to keep packing lines operating.
  • Required to assist in stacking at the end of the line as needed by loading boxes/bags onto a pallet.ย  Requires lifting up to 25 โ€“ 55 lbs. continuously.
  • Required to assist in the dumping of products at the deck as needed. Requires pushing/pulling 100+ lbs.
  • Required to assist as packer operator as needed.
  • Completes paperwork as needed.
  • Must maintain the integrity of raw materials.
  • Must assist in inventory and cycle counts
  • Keeps area and equipment clean; follows LOTO procedures when cleaning equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and warehouse manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Minimum of 1 year of warehouse/packaging experience within a food manufacturing environment or similar operation.
  • Ability to comfortably operate standard warehouse equipment, including proficient operation of stand-up forklift and load move system.ย 
  • Approximately 2 years of previous experience in a forklift position/operation is preferred.
  • Must be able to stack and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push/pull 100+ lbs.
