Job Description

Job Title: Warehouse/Yard Material Handler

Duration: Long Term

Work Location: All Over United States (Multiple Positions)

Pay Rate: $10.00/hr


POSITION SUMMARY:

Prepares rental equipment orders for shipment and processes returns. Loads, unloads and moves material within or near plant, yard, or worksite by hand and lift truck.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reads work orders/shipping orders and follows verbal instructions to locate product in warehouse/rental yard.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from trucks, pallets, trays, racks and shelves using forklift, hand truck or by hand.
  • Loads material into vehicles and prepares with strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit
  • Uses safe material handling procedures when lifting, or moving equipment and material or when directing movement.
  • Attaches identifying tags, or labels to material or packaging containers.
  • Stacks and assembles material and equipment into bundles and uses banding, skids, and containers appropriately.
  • Cleans products, materials, equipment and yard area to keep free of debris.
  • Inspects and prepares products, equipment and hardware for re-stocking and re-rental by cleaning, and repairing to standard.
  • May use form cleaning machinery and/or power and hand tools in renovating forms as needed.
  • Maintains accurate inventory counts and location status of inventory; maintains inventory in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be a trained and certified forklift operator, with a current/valid license.
  • Ability to use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, and counting.
  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year prior rental/warehouse/distribution material handler experience.
  • Ability to read, understand, and use all safety operating procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to operate air tools and hand tools; and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Requires ability to walk, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist, and climb.
  • Warehouse/Yard Material Handler - Rental
  • Must lift objects and move up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • PPE hearing protection, safety glasses, hard hat and safety steel toe shoes are required.
  • Exposed to outside inclement weather conditions including rain, heat, cold, and snow.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Requires ability to walk, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist, and climb.
  • Warehouse/Yard Material Handler - Rental
  • Must lift objects and move up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • PPE hearing protection, safety glasses, hard hat and safety steel toe shoes are required.
