Material Handler - Shipping & Receiving

To help us drive excellence, you'll get to:
  • Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Loads and unloads customer freight and empty containers.
  • Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels or production schedules.
  • Prepares orders/ Stages orders for delivery.
  • Unloads and loads Outside Processing (OSP) freight.
  • Organizes materials in department as necessary.
  • Recharges batteries, fills fuel tank or replaces liquefied gas tank.
  • Completes safety and operational checks daily. Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
  • Punctual and regular attendance is required. Able and willing to work any shift assigned.
  • Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor.

This Full-Time, hourly role is a part of our Autokiniton - Belleville Plant 2 team and reports to the Operations Coordinator.
Required experience:
Required Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
