MATERIAL HANDLER / OPERATOR

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Mobile Handler / Operator is responsible for optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency, operating, and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas and loading docks, into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving warehouse items.
  • Transporting materials to different locations within the facility and load trucks as needed.
  • Unload trucks and put inventory away into the correct locations.
  • Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Securing loads to the machine before transportation.
  • Inspecting for damages to vehicles.
  • Scheduling vehicles for maintenance and repairs.
  • Operating and managing technical equipment.
  • Rack and stack product up to 16 feet high.
  • Load trucks with empty dunnage.
  • Lift 20 – 40 pounds frequently.
  • Picking and wrapping orders for shipment.
  • Identifying workplace safety hazards.
  • Adhering to safety management standards.
  • Adhering to production schedules.
  • Hilo worker / tugger.
  • All things materials related.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 1+ year mobile equipment experience; 1+ year related warehouse experience; Stand up forklift experience is a plus.
