Job description

We are looking for a Data Scientist (m/f/d) to join our Forecasting Team, focusing on Sales Forecasting and Pricing. In this role, you will apply state-of-the-art machine learning models to solve complex market challenges, helping us order the right products and offer the best prices to our customers. You will work alongside experienced data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to optimize decisions along our global value chain.

Your Responsibilities
  • You design, develop, and maintain machine learning models with a specific focus on demand forecasting, supply chain simulation, and price optimization
  • You collaborate with the Commercial Leadership Team to understand business needs, translate them into technical specifications, and prioritise data science initiatives based on impact
  • You integrate your solutions into production systems, taking ownership of automating decision-making processes end to end
  • You define and monitor relevant KPIs to assess performance and continuously improve your algorithms based on results
  • You provide accurate and insightful statistical analyses and explain your findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders to facilitate steering decisions
  • You continuously learn and apply new technologies, actively sharing learnings to ensure our forecasting and pricing engines remain state-of-the-art
Your Profile
  • You have 2-4 years of professional experience in data science or machine learning engineering
  • You hold an academic degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, economics, computer science, or mathematics
  • You possess deep knowledge of machine learning algorithms (e.g., time series models, regression analysis, tree-based models)
  • You have high proficiency in SQL and Python and strong experience in version control (Git)
  • Your experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and engineering proficiency are a strong plus
  • You have strong analytical thinking and business acumen, with the ability to translate data into clear insights
  • You are proactive, curious, and eager to grow in a fast-paced environment
  • You are fluent in English; German is a plus
