DPS Fleet Operations Technician
FT / PT Status - Part-Time

The Department of Public Safety is looking for someone to assist with logistical tasks related to the department fleet. This job will include inventorying, distributing, and physically loading/unloading department emergency vehicle equipment as part of the upfitting process. Job duties will also include the removal and disassembly of installed emergency equipment from retired patrol cars.
Job Duties:
  • Familiarity and usage of basic tools in an automotive application (tools provided)
  • Repeated moderate to heavy lifting
  • Must be self-motivated, trustworthy, dependable, and able to work well with others
  • Part Time: 25-29 hours per week
  • Hours must be worked during standard business hours
  • Potential for future full-time position

Preference may be given to those with previous experience in automotive mechanical and/or electrical systems.

The DPS dive team, aero bureau, CERT team and Public Protection Unit (PPU) also fall under the Department of Public Safety. DPS is made up of more than 1,500 state employees who are stationed across Utah.
