Job description

Kelly Engineering has an exciting long term contract Junior Manufacturing Engineer role with an industry leader experiencing dynamic growth in the Elmira, NY area. This role offers a full benefits package and significant opportunities for company growth in a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and Project Engineering support for Medical Device manufacturing
  • Provides Process Engineering support for existing processes, including hands-on equipment troubleshooting and failure analysis for milling machines, lathes and other computer integrated electro-mechanical systems.
  • Participates in continuous improvements to existing processes using Process Excellence tools and LEAN principles.
  • Supports new equipment acquisition efforts including machine selection, installation, validation, employee training, and other related equipment responsibilities as required.
  • Assists in writing and updating standard operating procedures and conducts training of manufacturing personnel.
  • Develops project schedules and assists in tracking costs, preparing status reports, conducting meetings, documenting, and communicating progress to management.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Engineering
  • Hands on experience in internships/co-ops or class projects
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and computer skills required
