NOTICE OF POSITION

POSITION:

The Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Gregory Mott, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

STUDENT WORKER - IT INTERNSHIP

CURRENT PHS STUDENTS ONLY

POUGHKEEPSIE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a current PHS student

Fingerprint clearance and working papers required

DUTIES:

The Poughkeepsie City School District (PCSD) is committed to providing students and parents with pathways to opportunity that will lead to achievement and success. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

This is usually part-time work to provide extra help for administrators, teachers and other staff.  Incumbents of positions in this class are students.  Assignments are performed under direct supervision of higher level employees. 

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

1. May perform laboring tasks;
2. May assist custodial staff by doing routine cleaning duties;
3. May assist groundskeeping staff in care of fields and school grounds;
4. May assist maintenance staff as assigned;
5. May operate office equipment such as copying machines;
6. May do simple filing;
7. May shelve library books;
8. May assist in recreation activities;
9. Does related work as required. 

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Ability to follow oral and written directions; ability to learn quickly; ability to work well with others; courtesy; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. 

APPOINTMENT:

Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be conducted where appropriate.

EFFECTIVE DATE:

As soon as practicable

SALARY:

Minimum wage;

15-20 hours per week
