Key responsibilities

  • Lead grant proposals and funding applications end to end, including identifying opportunities and writing narratives for funders.

Job description

About Endurance
Endurance is building the world's first modular subsea geothermal power plants, converting vast thermal resources under the ocean into gigawatts of baseload power. Backed by Founders Fund, Felicis, First Round Capital, and Point72 Ventures, our founding team includes veterans from SpaceX, Helion, and Robinhood. We have completed multiple deep-ocean deployments and are launching a long-term demonstration project this fall. By leveraging modular design, manufacturing scale, efficient drilling, and latent cooling on the seafloor, we are pioneering a new category of energy that outperforms traditional sources on both environmental impact and cost.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will translate complex energy systems, engineering processes, and regulatory requirements into clear, accurate documentation for a variety of audiences- from technical specialists to community members. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented communicator eager to build a career at the intersection of energy, science and technical writing. Experience in the environmental, geology, energy generation, maritime, or utilities sectors is highly prioritized.
Responsibilities
  • Lead grant proposals and funding applications end to end - identifying opportunities across federal (DOE, ARPA-E), state, and private foundation programs, and writing the narratives that make Endurance's case to funders.
  • Manage the full grant lifecycle, from tracking deadlines and coordinating submissions to post-award reporting and compliance.
  • Partner with engineers and leadership to translate technical and financial details into accurate, compelling proposals that capture project scope, milestones, and impact.
  • Support regulatory and compliance documentation efforts, including environmental reports and permitting materials.
  • Create and update training materials, quick-reference guides, and internal process documentation.
  • Assist with proposals and RFP responses by writing and formatting clear technical narratives.
  • Ensure all documentation meets company standards for style, format, and readability.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, STEM, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to quickly learn technical concepts related to energy infrastructure, generation, or distribution.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the environmental, geology, energy generation, maritime, or utilities sectors
  • Internship or coursework experience in a technical or engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Notion).
  • Exposure to the energy, maritime, utilities, or renewables sector.
  • Experience with XML, HTML, or structured authoring tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, FrameMaker) is a plus.

Benefits & Perks
  • Global Fieldwork: Travel to fascinating deployment sites along oceanic ridges in locations like the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, Iceland, Japan, New Zealand, and the Azores
  • Hands-on Experience: Participate in sea trials and deployment operations in partnership with leading oceanographic institutions
  • Cutting-edge Development: Work with technology that spans high-power electronics, marine systems, and clean energy
  • Impactful Work: Help solve one of the world's most pressing challenges
  • Competitive Compensation: Comprehensive salary and equity packages
  • Benefits: Vision, Dental, Health insurance coverage
  • Dive Certification: Company-sponsored recreational dive certification
