Internship Underwater Acoustics Jobs (NOW HIRING)

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Silverdale, WA. This is an onsite position. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Assist senior engineers in the design, development, and testing of engineering projects associated with Navy acoustics in the field of machine learning, UUV's, underwater acoustics
* Conduct research and gather data to support project requirements pertaining to underwater acoustics, UUV operations and signal processing
* Proactively prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations
* Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering field, or an Associates degree with 3+ years of experience of experience, or a High School Diploma with 6+ years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
* 2+ years of MATLAB experience
* Academic or professional experience with machine learning principles and their application to automated systems
* Experience with the design, testing, or operation of Unmanned Vehicles Preferred Qualifications: * Underwater acoustics experience
* Internship or co-op experience in an engineering role
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical documentation.
* Self-starter with excellent people skills Clearance Requirements: * Must have a current and active Secret security clearance Physical Requirements: * The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
