The Alexander Review is a youth-led literary journal dedicated to publishing emerging voices in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. We are seeking Submissions Readers to join our editorial team. Readers play a vital role in shaping each issue by reviewing work, identifying standout pieces, and supporting editors in the selection process. Responsibilities:

  • Read and evaluate assigned submissions in poetry, fiction, or nonfiction.
  • Provide clear, concise feedback using our internal rubric.
  • Participate in occasional editorial discussions
  • Recommend standout work to section editors for further review.

Qualifications:

  • Strong passion for literature, creative writing, or publishing.
  • Strong reading comprehension and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide thoughtful, constructive feedback.
  • Reliable and able to meet deadlines (approx. 5–8 submissions per week).
  • Prior editing, workshop, or publishing experience is helpful but not required.

Additional Details:

This is a volunteer role, approx. 3–4 hours per week, fully remote. Submissions Readers are key to our editorial process and may be considered for future editorial positions as the journal expands.
