Job description

Role Overview

The Budget and Accounting Specialist will play a critical role in preparing our annual budget. Support the Controller with the development and monitoring of departmental budgets, prepare variance analyses, manage general ledger accounts, and ensure compliance with established financial policies. Position is onsite in Katonah,NY.

Key Responsibilities

  • Budget: Support the annual budget process, monitor expenditures, and prepare detailed budget-to-actual reports.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare periodical financial forecasts, trend analyses, and financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Accounting Operations: Reconcile accounts, process journal entries, and maintain accuracy of general ledger data. Back-up Accounts Payable.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with department heads to identify cost-saving measures and align departmental spending with organizational goals.
  • Compliance: Ensure all budgeting and accounting procedures strictly comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of relevant accounting or internship experience is required. 3-5 years of proven experience in budget analysis, corporate accounting, or financial planning is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting/budgeting software (e.g.,Oracle-Fusion Financials and PBCS Budget tool).
  • Attention to Detail: Strong aptitude for numbers, accuracy, and catching discrepancies.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to clearly present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Salary: $60,000 โ€“ $75,000 commensurate with experience
