The Role

The primary responsibility of the Electrical Engineer requires you to take full ownership of a problem and think like a systems engineer as you work closely alongside mechanical, software, embedded, and controls engineers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Full life cycle development of hardware and electronics starting from initial system architecting and concepts all the way through design, analysis, prototype, testing, qualification, and deployment
  • Perform and document analyses on projects, including hand calcs, circuit simulations, and CAD.
  • Design circuitry, PCBs, embedded, and high-level electrical system architectures
  • Write embedded code (microcontrollers, drivers, communication systems, PLCs)
  • Collaborate with stake holders across disciplines to satisfy electrical requirements for mechanical hardware and control systems
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical system problems including EMI / EMC issues with the ability to provide data driven solutions to make the system more robust
  • Lead design reviews internally and externally with customers
  • Communicate frequently and effectively with team members
  • Be responsible for deadlines, technically excellent, and accountable for your work
  • Constantly strive to improve your own technical skills, company processes, and be willing to both teach and learn from your peers
  • Travel when required to support hardware assembly, testing, and integration
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Experience

  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
  • Level I:
    • 1+ years of professional experience in electrical design and analysis
    • 1+ years of experience with CAD and circuit simulation software packages
    • 1+ years of hands-on experience in the design and development of electronics, electromechanical systems, or PCBs (internship and project team experience is applicable)
  • Level II:
    • 5+ years of professional experience in electrical design and analysis
    • 3+ years of experience with CAD and circuit simulation software packages
    • 3+ years of hands-on experience in the design and development of electronics, electromechanical systems, or PCBs (internship and project team experience is applicable)
  • Level III:
    • 7+ years of professional experience in electrical design and analysis
    • 5+ years of experience with CAD and circuit simulation software packages
    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in the design and development of electronics, electromechanical systems, or PCBs (internship and project team experience is applicable)
  • PCB / PCBA design experience, preferably using Altium
  • C/C++, VHDL, or Verilog experience coding an embedded system
  • Experience modeling electro-mechanical systems, preferably for motor control or robotic actuator control applications
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and analysis to inform data driven decisions
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to succinctly present recommendations to stakeholders, peers, management, and executive staff
  • Experience at a lean engineering organization or a highly technical position that required a scrappy, entrepreneurial manner to accomplish tasks with tight time or budget constraints
  • Demonstrated ability to perform on a highly technical and cross disciplinary hardware development team
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply electrical design principles relevant to power systems, embedded systems, and general electrical system architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to create, maintain, and improve processes involved in the practice of engineering and product development
  • Demonstrated ability to run design reviews, generate requirements, create product specifications and documentation, and perform end-to-end product testing
  • Familiarity and proficiency using basic electronics tools (soldering iron, crimpers, oscilloscope, etc)
  • Proof of US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is required to comply with ITAR regulations

Pay Range

  • Level I: $76,500-$100,000
  • Level II: $89,000-$120,000
  • Level III: $108,000-$145,000
