We’re looking for a motivated Associate Electrical Engineer to support our Industrial Water team with the design, programming, testing, commissioning, and improvement of electrical and control systems for industrial water treatment solutions. You’ll work on custom systems that combine electrical design, automation, instrumentation, and real-world field commissioning. This role offers hands-on experience, mentorship from experienced engineers, and a path toward greater ownership of controls design, programming, testing, and commissioning responsibilities.

What You’ll Bring

  • A passion for learning and applying electrical engineering, automation, PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and industrial control systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify practical technical solutions.
  • Strong organization and communication skills to manage multiple priorities while collaborating with internal teams and customers.
  • A safety-first mindset with a commitment to quality, accountability, and reliable engineering solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to electrical and controls engineering projects from design through testing, commissioning, and implementation.
  • Assist with electrical power distribution design, including 480VAC three-phase power and low-voltage control systems.
  • Assist with control system architecture, including PLCs, instrumentation, safety systems, and industrial communication networks.
  • Support electrical component selection, control panel layout, CAD documentation, panel assembly, and system integration.
  • Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs while following MPW programming, engineering, and safety standards, with guidance from experienced engineers as needed.
  • Develop toward independently designing and programming complete control systems using control narratives, P&IDs, electrical drawings, and MPW standards.
  • Participate in equipment testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and standardized testing documentation.
  • Communicate project progress, testing status, and technical updates with engineering teams, internal departments, vendors, and customers.
  • Manage assigned tasks to meet project schedules, quality expectations, and budget objectives.
  • Travel to customer locations and project sites as needed to support system startup, commissioning, and field activities.

What You’ll Need

  • Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, Controls, or a closely related technical field required.
  • Entry-level and early-career candidates are encouraged to apply; previous internship, co-op, technical project, controls integration, or industrial automation experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with 24VDC, 120/240VAC, and 480VAC electrical power system design.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC-based control systems, HMI software, industrial networking, and Ethernet communications.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software preferred; familiarity with NEC electrical codes is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Ability to travel to customer and project sites as needed, including up to approximately 60 overnight stays annually, to support equipment testing, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work in a professional office, manufacturing, and customer-site environment, including extended computer use, participation in equipment testing, and occasional non-traditional hours to support project schedules and a 24/7 service organization.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary with opportunities for career growth and advancement
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and floating holidays
  • Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to give back to your community
  • Employee referral bonus program
  • Wellness benefits that support your overall health and well-being
  • Opportunities for professional development, training, and leadership growth
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Stable company with long-term career opportunities
