highly motivated student to participate in our
Victim Advocate Undergraduate Internship Program! With every job we fill, our focus is on providing best in class service to our citizens while offering the opportunity for professional growth in a rewarding and innovative work environment.
Our Victim Advocate Intern will work closely with the Victim Services Coordinator and Victim Advocates, who will provide direct training and support throughout the internship. Interns will learn how to provide trauma-informed, person-centered, strengths-based services that promote health and safety, inspire confidence, respect choice, and assist victims/survivors towards next steps. The primary responsibilities and duties of this internship include:
- Assists in providing support to victims, families of victims, and witnesses to threatened or actual crimes.
- Assists victims and witnesses of persons crimes during the investigative process, after the immediate crisis has concluded.
- Provides information to victims/witnesses about the criminal justice system and its processes.
- Acts in accordance with the provisions of the Victims' Bill of Rights found in Article 2.1 of the Arizona Constitution and Arizona Revised Statutes Title 13, Chapter 40.
- Provides information about available resources outside of the criminal justice system and facilitates communication with these services.
- Conducts assessments of individual needs and cultural considerations.
- Participates in coordinated, multidisciplinary responses to the needs of victims, families, and witnesses.
- Provides assistance with obtaining Orders of Protection and Injunctions Against Harassment.
- Assists with obtaining a copy of the police report at no cost for victims or their immediate family members.
- Performs administrative tasks such as making resource copies, emailing or mailing resources to victims, updating flyers and materials, and contacting agencies for resource replenishments.
- Other relevant program support duties, including administrative, as assigned.
This is a limited-term internship that will end no later than 5/31/2027. The candidate selected for this internship will work part-time, up to 20 hours per week.Anticipated Recruiting Timeline:- Posting Closes: June 14th, 2026
