AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY INTERNSHIP
KENNEDY-KING COLLEGE
The Automotive/Collision Technology department is seeking Auto-Tech student interns. This internship offers practical and hands-on experience in the field while reinforcing skills and knowledge gained in the classroom. If you are ready to join the City of Chicago's Fleet & Facility Management (2FM) team, this internship is for you!
Responsibilities:
The Automotive Technology Internship requires students to complete 135 hours at an approved facility (17-20 hours weekly), attend a one-hour and 40-minute weekly seminar class, and complete all site and class-related assignments.

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
  • A 2.0 GPA or higher (Automotive Chairperson or Dean approval).
  • Do Not share the City of Chicago's (2FM) confidential forms.
  • A complete Automotive Cooperative Learning Experience application.
  • Attend a mandatory orientation.
  • Completion of all required coursework (Approved by Automotive Chairperson or Dean)
  • Participate in a criminal background (2FM Requirement).
  • Participate in the City of Chicago's indebtedness check (2FM Requirement).
  • Participate in the City of Chicago's child support status check (2FM Requirement).
  • Availability of 17-20 hours per week to complete the required cooperative learning experience in a (2FM) approved facility.
  • Availability is limited and will be granted on a first come, first served basis.

Qualification:
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time or part-time student at Kennedy-King College.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to work collaboratively with the (2FM) team.

The salary for this position is $17 per hour. The rate paid is in accordance with City Colleges approved salary scale.
