Job description

Cardiovascular Technician

The primary purpose of the Cardiovascular Technician position is to provide direct patient care, perform as a scrub person during Cath Lab procedures, perform hemodynamic and physiologic monitoring, assist in the preparation of the procedural room and set-up of table and equipment for procedures, under the direction and supervision of a Physician and Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in the Cardiovascular department.
  • Act as a scrub person during Cath Lab procedures.
  • Perform hemodynamic and physiologic monitoring during procedures.
  • Assist with preparing the procedural room before procedures.
  • Set up the table and equipment for Cath Lab procedures.
  • Work under the direction and supervision of a Physician and Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program or successful completion of the Cardiovascular Technologist Internship in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
  • Experience must include:
    • Cardiac hemodynamic and physiologic monitoring.
    • Providing first-line sterile assistance during diagnostic and/or interventional procedures.
  • CVT or RCVT certification highly desirable.
  • Current BLS (CPR) certification required.

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly range for this position is $39.07 - $40.76 per hour. University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs. The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
