Job description

Job Specific Competencies:


· The Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist will be responsible for working directly with the Purchasing department regarding ordering/maintaining par levels, maintains all radiographic equipment and storage, maintains all equipment service/QC logs and appropriate testing along with managing visiting vendors.


· The Interventional Cardiovascular Technologist will assist physicians with all aspects of cardiac, endovascular, neurovascular, electrophysiology and radiology invasive procedures. Procedures include, but not limited to, diagnostic coronary catheterizations/angioplasty, endovascular diagnostics/angioplasty, balloon pump/Impella insertions along with electrophysiology procedures such as pacemaker implantation, temporary pacemaker and loop recorder insertions. Procedures also include cerebral angiograms and neurovascular interventions.

· Responsible for preparing sterile procedure trays along with patient preparation prior to each case.

· Enters all relevant data into the hemodynamic monitoring system as well as procedural documentation.

· Interprets cardiac rhythms and recognizes life-threatening arrhythmias.

· Maintains and utilizes the required standards of digital cine technologies, storage and retrieval of images/hemodynamic records.

· Manages Cath Lab inventory by resupplying procedure rooms.

· Assists in transporting patients to the appropriate nursing units within the institution.

· Member of the Emergency Call Team for procedures after regularly scheduled hours. Must be onsite/in the laboratory within 30 minutes OT activation.


Education Requirements:


· Candidates must be a licensed RT or have an RCIS Certification
