Job description

BROWARD COLLEGE MECHANIC APPRENTICE AND AIRCRAFT WASHER INTERNSHIP

Internship Opportunity:

  • Mechanic Apprentice and Aircraft Washer

Supervising Department:

  • Aircraft Maintenance, reporting to a Licensed A & P Mechanic

Target Program at Broward College:

  • Those individuals already on the pathway to Airframe & Powerplant Certification.

Role Description:

  • Work under the supervision and guidance of Mechanics of the department to ensure that aircraft are prepared to safely function per regulation.

  • Participate in the Mechanic Apprentice training offered by the department.  

  • Participate in internal communication with all other departments related to equipment considerations, product excellence, scheduling issues and required paperwork.  

  • Focus on safety by observing self and teammates and being vigilant, report issues and offer suggestions to promote continuous process improvement.  

  • Perform the duties required to prepare, clean, wash and apply corrosion preventative so that aircraft are presented in the best possible manner.  And other collateral duties as assigned such as inventory control.

  • Acquire skills in and understanding of Cessna 208 Aircraft.

  • Successful evaluation of performance at the Ninety (90) Day milestone, from both Tropic Ocean Airways and a representative faculty member at Broward College, will lead to a conditional job offer.

  • Upon graduation from the Broward College Program the graduate will transition to full-time employment with Tropic Ocean Airways, and accumulated experience on our Amphibious Caravan will translate to a higher pay rate to respect that tenure.
