Summary / Purpose of Position:

The AutoWorks Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily sales operations of AutoWorks, a social enterprise of Miracle Hill Ministries, by managing vehicle sales, serving customers, and leading sales associates. This position supports economic mobility opportunities for program participants, teaching both vehicle acquisition/sales skills and critical soft skills. The role emphasizes meeting or exceeding monthly and annual sales goals for unit sales, gross profit, and operational efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Sales & Customer Interaction
  • Direct sales staffing, training, and development to foster a high-performing sales team.
  • Set and monitor monthly and annual sales targets, adjusting strategies to achieve unit and profit objectives.
  • Engage with customers professionally, facilitating sales and answering questions to close deals.
  • Track and meet monthly projections, ensuring records for sales and donations comply with DMV, State, Federal, and tax regulations.
  1. Inventory Management
  • Coordinate vehicle acquisition, including donated and used vehicles, to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Ensure all vehicles are inspected, repaired, and detailed for sale.
  • Maintain the sales lot and work areas to be organized, appealing, and free from hazards.
  1. Leadership & Program Support
  • Hire, train, motivate, and supervise AutoWorks staff, including interns, fostering a culture of respect and dignity.
  • Lead regular sales meetings and manage program participants' development.
  • Supervise sales associates, overseeing task completion and professional growth.
  • Ability to lead devotionals for staff and interns.
  1. Administrative & Compliance
  • Oversee donation/sales paperwork, cash reconciliation, and daily sales reporting to the accounting department.
  • Analyze and control expenditures to remain within budgetary constraints.
  • Organize and conduct New Owner Clinics, serving as a follow-up to the Bridge to Wheels program.
  1. Marketing & Promotions
  • Develop and execute sales campaigns, aligning them with AutoWorks' goals and market trends.
  • Advertise and promote vehicle sales through appropriate marketing channels.
  1. Customer Service
    • Treat all customers with respect and professionalism, ensuring a positive experience.
    • Receive donations courteously, answer phone inquiries professionally, and assist customers with their needs.

Qualifications:

  1. Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (3+ years in sales, preferably in automotive sales, and 1+ year in a supervisory role).
  • Knowledge of automotive industry basics, and DMV regulations (preferred).
  • Valid SC driver's license meeting MHM insurance criteria. DOT physical clearance and rollback experience are a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, sales and negotiation, organizational skills, and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent customer service, communication (verbal and written), leadership, and mentorship abilities.

  • Ability to work on feet for full shifts, and lift 20-50 pounds
