Job description

Overview
Under direction, to perform work and is responsible for planning, implementing and administrating EMS training programs. Evaluates the effectiveness of the EMT Program training. Reports to RCC Manager and oversees Paramedics at Casino Boat. Performs oversight of EMT program and training of EMS (EMT and Paramedic courses) at The Methodist Hospitals.
Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)
  1. Acts as Program Lead for the EMT programs.
  2. Works with RCC Manager and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator to maintain all aspects of accreditation through CAAHEP.
  3. Performs ride-along with EMS during emergency calls to evaluate EMS service under emergency scene conditions.
  4. Monitors clinical coordination for the EMT program including all clinical and field internship components.
  5. Acts as liaison between local providers and the RCC to ensure standards are being followed and to maintain all ALS (M.I.C.) records, trauma records and paramedic records.
  6. Teach and assist with EMT and Paramedic courses as well as CPR, ACLS and PALS programs.

Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Thorough knowledge of Paramedic and EMT assessment and ACLS related medical equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
  • Ability to provide a positive attitude and support the organization and work with team members.
  • Must be courteous, kind compassionate and caring.
  • Certified ACLS/PALS/CPR Instructor required.
  • Licensed Paramedic in the State of Indiana required.
  • National Registry Paramedic preferred.
  • Certified Primary Instructor preferred.

EDUCATION
  • A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Public Health or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Bachelors Public Health Preferred
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in the field of Paramedic Education Training is preferred.
  • 5 Healthcare/Medical - Paramedic Preferred
