Our facility is dedicated to supporting adults (18+), offering specialized care for mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders.

Position Summary

The Therapist is responsible for providing individual and group therapy sessions for clients in a specialized Outpatient facility. The position involves assessing the therapeutic needs of individuals and families, developing appropriate treatment plans, and serving as the primary contact for clients and families throughout the treatment process. Therapists act as client advocates and medical liaison with referral sources, clinical partners, and individuals to coordinate care throughout treatment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Exemplify five‑star service to clients, team members, referents, and families.
  • Demonstrate a high level of clinical skill in assessing needs, determining interventions, and conducting individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Complete psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, contact logs, discharge plans, and other required reports in compliance with state and accrediting body guidelines.
  • Conduct weekly individual and family therapy sessions for assigned caseload.
  • Monitor behavioral interventions for each client and provide skills coaching as needed.
  • Conduct specialized groups as assigned; supervise or co‑lead groups with staff or interns when appropriate.
  • Select appropriate interventions to meet the clinical needs of individual clients.
  • Maintain therapeutic relationships, use praise and reinforcers to encourage appropriate behaviors.
  • Set limits and maintain firm boundaries.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal crisis intervention and de‑escalation, involving other staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate client care from admission through discharge.
  • Attend weekly clinical, consultation, and business meetings; present cases as pre‑assigned.
  • Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner reflecting ongoing assessment of client presentation and behaviors.
  • Communicate client progress with referral sources, family, parent, or guardian, informing them of treatment goals and plans as appropriate.
  • Document services, incident reports, shift reports, or department reports in accordance with policies and procedures.
Qualifications

Education and Experience: Requires a master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling, or psychology. Must hold a clinical license, in good standing, in the state of MI (LMSW, LPC, LMFT, or LMHC). Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with clients with a primary mental health diagnosis.
