Johnson & Johnson MedTech Surgery, is recruiting for a Wound Closure & Healing (WC&H) or Biosurgery Engineering Co-Op, located in Raritan, NJ.

At Johnson & Johnson MedTech Surgery, we support products across the WC&H and Biosurgery platforms, as well as across the Endo-Mechanical, Energy, and Robotics businesses. The Global Technical Operations (GTO) team is searching for engineering co-ops to join the WC&H and Biosurgery platforms!

WC&H is the global leader in wound closure, with products that improve efficiency, healing, and patient outcomes. WC&H's product portfolio includes absorbable and non-absorbable sutures, knotless tissue control devices, topical skin adhesives, as well as mesh and molded products. We strive to develop products that not only passively help wounds heal by approximating tissue but also actively enhance the healing process.

Biosurgery is a leading provider of proven solutions that address a range of surgical bleeding and leaking situations! Biosurgery's product portfolio includes proprietary oxidized regenerated cellulose hemostats; gelatin powder and sponges; flowable hemostatic-matrix; human thrombin, and fibrin sealants.

As an engineering co-op, you will be assigned to support activities related to New Product Development (NPD), process development & qualification, equipment design/development/qualification, product design changes, significant mfg. process changes, test method development, external manufacturing process changes, and overall project and portfolio management.

Co-Op Terms: January to July/August 2027 OR May/June to December 2027

Key Responsibilities:
  • Write and execute process development protocols and reports.
  • Organize and submit process development samples for testing.
  • Collect, analyze, & report process data.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers to support key projects.
  • Lead small technical projects and process changes.
  • Support local community through the Credo inspired events and activities.
QualificationsEducation:
  • Enrolled in an accredited college/university.
  • Preferred majors are: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, and Polymer Science and Engineering.
Experience and Skills:Required:
  • Must have transportation to and from work daily
  • Completion of at least a first year of undergraduate academic program
  • Demonstrated leadership is preferred
  • Must be able to balance multiple projects and maintain organization
  • Must have the ability to work individually as well as on a team
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Excel
  • A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 is required
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US
Preferred:
  • Proficient in the following are preferred: Minitab, Tableau
  • Participation in campus/community service activities

The expected pay range for this position is between $23.50 per hour and $52.50 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co-Ops/Interns areeligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year. Co-Opsand Interns are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension).
