Job Title: R&D Lab Technician
Job Description
Join our dynamic R&D team as a Lab Technician, where you will play a key role in preparing lab batches following approved formulations, assisting with small-scale formulation work, and performing basic analytical testing such as pH, viscosity, and appearance assessments. You will support sample preparation, labeling, and submission, assist with raw material handling, and maintain an organized lab environment. This role also involves maintaining accurate lab records in compliance with GMP/GLP standards and collaborating closely with R&D, QC, and Production teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare lab batches following approved formulations.
- Assist with small-scale formulation work.
- Perform basic analytical testing including pH, viscosity, and appearance evaluations.
- Document results accurately and maintain lab records in line with GMP/GLP standards.
- Support sample preparation, labeling, and submission processes.
- Assist with raw material handling, lab organization, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with R&D, QC, and Production teams on daily lab activities.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field (preferred).
- 1+ year of experience, especially in personal care/cosmetics (preferred).
- Strong lab exposure, open to new graduates.
- Experience with batching/formulation.
- Proficiency in basic lab techniques such as pH meter and viscosity testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Internship experience in labs or formulation is advantageous.
- Coursework in cosmetic science.
- Experience as a junior compounder with small-scale batching preferred.
- Basic understanding of lab safety (formal GMP not required).
- Transferable experience from food or nutraceutical industries is considered.
Work Environment
This position operates on a first shift schedule from 8 am to 4:30 pm. It is a short-term contract position, ranging from 1-2 months, within a small team environment. Employees are eligible for 24 hours of CA sick pay after 90 days of employment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
