Job Summary:

Sysco is the global leader in selling, marketing and distributing food products to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, lodging establishments and other customers who prepare meals away from home. Our family of products also includes equipment and supplies for the foodservice and hospitality industries. We operate distribution facilities worldwide serving customers across the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Bahamas and other countries.

Sysco offers a paid 10-week summer internship program in which participants are involved in much more than the day-to-day operations of the company. Interns will be exposed to real projects and challenges in a dynamic company environment designed to give interns real world experiences on what it is like to work at a Fortune 100 company.

Location:

This is a hybrid position located in Houston. Candidates will be local to the Greater Houston area. Relocation is not available.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Works with software development, quality engineering, and documentation teams to design and develop (coding. Programming) features and capabilities
  • Documents and tests new software applications
  • Participates in design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems
  • Researches, investigates, and fixes a wide range of technical issues
  • Ensures quality and performance assurance
  • Proactively learns about new technologies
QUALIFICATIONS Education
  • Students pursuing a Bachelor's degree with concentrations in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or related field
  • Strong academic credentials (Minimum GPA of 3.0)
Experience Preferred:
  • Basic understanding of ASP.net, C#, Python, and SQL.
  • Basic knowledge of DevOps, including continuous integration, continuous deployment / delivery, configuration and containerization, infrastructure as a code, and monitoring.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with having an "agile-development" mindset enhanced by a strong customer-focus & results-orientation
  • Flexible mindset (not married to a single technology) and demonstrated ability to grow skillset and work across a robust and diverse technology stack
  • Willingness and ability to excel in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Excellent communication skills required to effectively navigate business stakeholder and technology team relationships
