Job description


This role will design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to support business units across the utility.
Responsibilities
Work closely with data engineers and architects to ensure data quality, governance, and security across the Azure ecosystem.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business processes, and translate needs into effective data visualizations.
Build and optimize data models using Power BI Desktop and DAX to ensure performance and scalability.
Integrate data from various sources including Azure Data Lake, SQL Server, Oracle, and SharePoint, API's.
Implement row-level security and manage workspace access to ensure data governance and compliance.
Support data quality initiatives by identifying inconsistencies and working with data owners to resolve issues.
Provide training and support to business users on Power BI capabilities and self-service analytics.
Stay current with Power BI updates and best practices and recommend improvements to existing reporting infrastructure.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
Eighteen months of work and/or internship primarily in a BI development, data modeling and administration role.
Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling techniques.
Experience working with large datasets and integrating data from multiple sources.
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and Agile development practices.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
