Global Medical Response (GMR) is proud to be an authorized provider of the DOD SkillBridge program, offering U.S. Military Service Members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience in the medical response industry through training, internships and on-the-job (OJT) experience.
Under the SkillBridge program, GMR hosts active-duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the final six months of their active-duty obligated service. The SkillBridge Program with GMR will run for up to 180-days. During the SkillBridge program, a military service member will retain their military pay and benefits and will not be compensated by GMR.
SkillBridge program start dates are timed in accordance with company indoc schedules and Service Member availability.
SkillBridge Program Minimum Required Qualifications (general):
  • Current Active-Duty Service Member
  • Meets DoD SkillBridge Qualifications
  • Available to participate for 180-days
  • Obtain signed approval from your unit commander (04 or above) and agree that participation in SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the Service if mission requirements dictate

During SkillBridge Program
  • 24-hour base housing provided at select locations (for Field Mechanics)

If Hired after Completion of SkillBridge Program
Although successful completion of a Skillbridge program is a not a guarantee of future employment with any GMR company, a newly hired GMR/Guardian Flight Aircraft Maintenance Technician can expect the following:
  • Starting Salary: $65,239 - $94,567 (additional Geo Modifier as applicable)
  • IA Stipend 2,080
  • Sign-On Bonus 12,500
  • Schedule M-F or 4/10

We're hiring a Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) responsible for the overall maintenance and safety of our fleet of aircraft. This is a key role in ensuring and managing our team so they can safely maintain and deliver timely and high-quality transportation services, care and customer service to patients.
Responsibilities
  • Aircraft Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance services including mechanical inspections, screening, repairs and providing regular statuses to the Lead Technician.
  • Manage inventory checks to ensure stock of supplies and equipment, regularly update the equipment tracking log, place replacement requests when necessary and document part expenditures.
  • Clearly document service paperwork and FAA information as required and adhere to policies and procedures while complying with the company's information security standards.
  • Take pride in sustaining a safe and clean working environment for the aircraft maintenance team and flight crew.
  • Use appropriate communication methods to help facilitate coordination of efforts between departments, vendors and team members.
  • Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow AMTs and operations team.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Current FAA Airframe Mechanic certificate (or verified work history that meets minimum requirements to obtain written approval for Airframe testing from the FAA within 6 months of hire)
  • Current FAA Repairman's certificate (or verified work history that meets minimum requirements to obtain certificate within 6 months of hire)
  • Five (5) years field maintenance experience maintaining avionics systems in modern complex Fixed Wing and / or Rotorcraft operated under an air carrier (14 CFR Part 135) certificate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • FAA Inspection Authorization Certificate
  • Related experience under 14 CFR Part 135
  • Autopilot maintenance experience
  • Avionics and electrical repair experience
