Sr Embedded Automotive Software Engineer/CONTRACT

We, at Leggett & Platt Incorporated, are searching for a CONTRACT Sr Embedded Automotive Software Engineer within our Engineering team to help support our Automotivebusiness. Did you know we are the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers, as well as tier one and two suppliers within the automotive industry? That’s right! Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Motors, Actuators and Massage Systems. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

THIS IS A 12 MONTH CONTRACT POSITION

So, what will you be doing as a Senior Automotive Embedded Software Engineer?

  • Complete various engineering efforts to design, prototype and validate product design solutions in support of customer and internal core team timing requirements.
  • Maintain regular contact with team and systems integration engineering on technical issues.
  • Actively participate in program core teams with proactive presentation of defined engineering deliverables defined in the APD portion of the C2P process.
  • Develop engineered product solutions to meet customer needs by creative use of core part designs and technologies by ensuring compliance to MISRA and other regulatory standards.
  • Establish and maintain adequate records of technical information, process methods/standards, design and program details, and records to support/procure reliable patent actions.
  • Ensure products are reviewed for best practice from a Design for Excellence (DFX) perspective including Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Cost (DFC), Design for Testability (DFT), Design for Reliability (DFR) and Design for Ergonomics (DFE) to ensure design delivery to product targets.

To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Need

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an automotive embedded software product design role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Experience working with project launch cycles for automotive.
  • Strong knowledge of C programming, model-based design, architectural design, engineering calculations and analysis.
  • Knowledge of automotive APQP terms.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and presentation skills.
  • Experience coding with LIN, CAN and UDS diagnostics.
  • Knowledge with AUTOSAR software architecture and experience with related tools.
  • Knowledge with ASPICE and ISO-26262 is an asset.
  • Familiar with coding rules in C language for automotive applications.
  • Familiar with software build, release process and integration, validation process and tools.
