Reports To: Dealer Principal / Owner Department: Management
The Automotive General Manager oversees all operations within a dealership, ensuring profitability, efficient operations, and exceptional customer satisfaction. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage sales, service, parts, finance, and administrative departments, while driving growth, achieving revenue targets, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage all dealership operations, including sales, service, and parts departments, ensuring alignment with company goals and standards
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Oversee sales team performance, providing coaching, training, and motivation to maximize productivity and revenue
  • Manage fixed operations, including service and parts departments, to ensure high-quality service delivery and operational excellence
  • Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense control
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and manufacturer representatives
  • Ensure compliance with all dealership policies, safety regulations, and industry standards

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in dealership sales management and fixed operations, within a Ford dealership
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
  • Strong understanding of automotive sales processes, service operations, and parts management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze financial reports and develop strategies to improve profitability
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Automotive Management, or related field preferred

Requirements
  • Ford Motor Company experience required
  • Proven experience in automotive dealership management, as a GM required.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of dealership operations, including sales, finance, service, and parts.
  • Analytical and financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities.
