Apple's global government affairs team is seeking a senior global policy expert to anticipate, analyze and advocate on global public policy developments that may impact the company's digital technologies and services. The role will have a core focus on artificial intelligence and other emerging digital technologies, but may also cover a wider array of digital technologies and services. The Senior Global Policy Manager will be expected to engage with global policy experts to understand the evolving policy environment, work with internal cross-functional teams to develop Apple's policy positions, represent Apple's positions globally, and work collaboratively with local government affairs teams and other teams to advocate for those positions.
Description
Monitor, analyze, and brief cross-functional teams and senior management on political, legislative and regulatory developments related to artificial intelligence and emerging digital technologies and services
Engage proactively with external policy experts, including government officials, academics, and civil society, to maintain cutting edge expertise in evolving policy challenges and legislative/regulatory responses under consideration
Work with cross-functional teams to develop Apple's policy positions, including as they intersect with the company's overarching positions on protecting user privacy, security and trust
Represent Apple's digital policy positions in global policy fora, including multi-stakeholder, academic organizations and trade associations
Collaborate with regional government affairs experts to develop and implement strategies to inform national and local legislative/regulatory developments and advocate for Apple's policy positions
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of professional experience in roles that involve shaping digital policy development in government and/or private sector
Substantive expertise in artificial intelligence policy and other emerging global digital technology policies and policy trends
Effective collaborator within cross-functional teams and capable of driving consensus across teams and geographies
Excellent verbal and written communicator; detail-oriented, with the ability to quickly analyze complex issues and summarize technical, legal and policy challenges in a clear, concise presentation
Bachelor's degree or above
Preferred Qualifications
Professional experience in digital policy development both within and outside of the US
Long-term strategy insight, including an ability to assess external opportunities for potential value
Proficiency in English and at least one non-English language
Ability to travel internationally
