Job description

PURPOSE:
This role protects the organization's IT infrastructure, data, and systems from cyber threats by designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining comprehensive cybersecurity measures. It blends cybersecurity engineering, incident response, system monitoring, vulnerability management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure ongoing information security and resilience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor and promptly respond to all security alerts and crises, maintaining reasonable 24/7 availability for incident response in some form.
  • Collect, manage, and analyze IT logs across all systems using a SIEM-based approach to ensure comprehensive visibility into the IT environment.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce organization-wide security policies and best practices to maintain a strong and consistent security posture.
  • Triage and troubleshoot IT security systems to identify and minimize disruptions across all IT monitoring systems.
  • Continuously identify and resolve vulnerabilities within existing IT infrastructure and systems to reduce organizational risk.
  • Perform regular penetration tests and deliver detailed, actionable reports documenting findings and recommended remediation steps.
  • Document all incidents, known breaches, and vulnerabilities thoroughly using the firm's helpdesk ticketing and documentation systems.
  • Collaborate with security vendors and consultants to assess potential security issues and evaluate emerging threats and solutions.
  • Partner with the Infrastructure Team on maintaining and optimizing firewalls and IDS/IPS systems to ensure robust network defense.
  • Provide collaboration and backup support to the Infrastructure Team for ongoing network maintenance and operational continuity.
  • Work closely with the Information Systems Department to recommend and implement security improvements across IS systems and platforms.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for the Help Desk Team in identifying and resolving complex or elevated security issues.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Help Desk Team members, fostering a firm-wide culture of security awareness and best practices.
  • Actively participate in IT-related projects involving the deployment and upgrading of IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Pursue continuing education and professional development to stay current with evolving cybersecurity threats, best practices, and technologies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • 12+ years of experience in Network Engineering and Support roles; 5+ years in Cybersecurity roles.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Entra ID, and OKTA IAM platform including IdP, SSO, SAML, OIDC, OAuth, MFA, and SCIM protocols.
  • Advanced knowledge of Firewall technologies including IDS, IPS, Routing, and VPN systems and configurations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Networking protocols including TCP/IP, SSL, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SNMP, SMTP, and SSH.
  • Advanced knowledge of Network Troubleshooting tools including packet analysis, vulnerability scanners, nslookup, and CLI interfaces.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer-related hardware, accessories, and cabling across a variety of device types and configurations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of EDR, MDR, and NDR systems, including Darktrace, for threat detection and response.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), Project, Visio, SCCM, and Intune.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Apple macOS (v12–15), iOS (v8–18), Android OS (v9–15), and Windows 10/11 (24H2) across managed and unmanaged enterprise environments.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Video Conferencing systems and VoIP phone platforms in a corporate setting.
  • Basic knowledge of RMM systems and Helpdesk Ticketing platforms.
  • Work in office Monday through Thursday with Friday as an optional remote day.
SALARY
$120,000 - $160,000
