Compensation: Compensation will be the greater amount between (GBS)$125,000 to $175,000 or 25% individual production
About the Job
Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is currently seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Veterinary Anesthesiologist who has excellent clinical and communication skills and embodies our core values to develop and lead our Anesthesia Department. As a privately owned, non-corporate Emergency, Specialty, and Primary Care veterinary hospital, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care with empathy, teamwork, and clinical excellence while fostering a positive and supportive workplace. This full-time position provides an exciting opportunity to practice cutting-edge medicine and collaborate with all departments to expand interdepartmental education and training and contribute to patent safety and pain management protocols across a wide variety of companion animal species. Our comprehensive network of departments includes Anesthesiology, Avian & Exotics, Behavioral Medicine, Cardiology, Clinical Pathology, Emergency and Critical Care, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Primary Care, Rehabilitation, and Specialty Surgery.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with doctors and staff to develop and review anesthesia and pain management plans for patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions
• Collaborate with a skilled support team of technicians, assistants, and front desk staff within and outside of the Anesthesia Department
• Lead anesthesia and analgesia education initiatives across all departments with a focus on patient safety and comfort
• Ensure accurate, thorough, and timely anesthesia records
• Participate in overnight and weekend on-call schedules
• Participate in departmental and hospital meetings, rounds, and case discussions
• Mentor Veterinary Interns and Veterinary Student Externs as assigned
• Support our culture of teaching, learning, mentorship, and teamwork
Qualifications
• DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (DACVAA)
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of New Jersey
• Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible
• Strong clinical, interpersonal, teaching, and communication skills
• Passion for interdisciplinary collaboration and advancing anesthesia and analgesia practices
• Strong interest in teaching interns, student externs, veterinary technicians, and veterinarians
