Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Retail Internet Used Firearms Specialist position is responsible for creating accurate descriptions and capturing high-quality images of store selection of used firearms. This role uploads the used firearm selection descriptions and photographs for the used firearm online website. They maintain a high-quality website with accurate, up-to-date inventories. This position assists in making used firearm sales through customer interaction via e-mail, mail, telephone and personal contact.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Creates and uploads accurate descriptions and capture high-quality images of store selection of used firearms. Maintains a high-quality website with accurate, up-to-date inventories. Adds and deletes specific firearms as they are acquired, disposed, and transferred to keep the used firearm online inventory current and company expectations are met for percentage of guns maintained on company site per company direction.
  • Evaluates and purchases used firearms, acquire used firearms into the bound book, and ensures proper payment to the customer.
  • Initiates 4473 forms with customers and conduct the final check of applicable company, state, and federal forms prior to a firearm being transferred to the customer.
  • Assists in making used firearm sales through customer interaction via e-mail, mail, telephone and personal contact. Provides legendary customer service experience to every customer by greeting, consulting, and assisting them in finding merchandise and making buying decisions. This includes processing firearms transactions in an efficient manner in accordance with all internal policies, procedures, and applicable law.
  • Produces monthly sales audit reports for used firearms online activities.
  • Acquires all firearms legally and in accordance with all ATF, state, and local laws and regulations and with company policies. This includes completing ATF required forms, applicable state forms necessary for background checks, certifying and screening all potential firearm transfers for legality of the sale, complying with waiting periods or other possible state requirements, and straw purchases.
  • Assists with the acquisition and receipt of firearms in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations, proper and error free completion of all company forms, assistance with performing firearms audits, mounting optics to firearms, safely checking / clearing firearms received by customers or via shipment, and preparation of firearms for retail sale.
  • Evaluates and appraises used firearms utilizing past experience of historical firearms knowledge and resources.
  • Responds and handles customer issues by using good judgment and logic in solving problems and making decisions within the job scope.
  • Assures visual standards are met by up-keep and maintenance to include, but not limited to, restocking, remerchandising, cleaning fixtures, and general care and housekeeping. Maintains standards within the department and back room including attention to proper facing of firearms tags and performing opening and closing duties.
  • Participates in ongoing training including, but not limited to firearms and shooting product information, diverse shooting discipline awareness, systems training, compliance related training, and selling skills / techniques.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 0-2 years experience
  • Must be 21 years of age

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Ability to safely handle firearms and adhere to all company, state, and federal firearms regulations
  • Ability to provide legendary customer service experience to every customer by greeting, consulting, and assisting them in finding merchandise and making buying decisions
  • Ability to operate camera and computer to upload photos and maintain descriptions
  • Knowledge of purchasing firearms by either working in the firearms industry or
    collecting firearms

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Constantly remain in a stationary position, often standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Constantly communicate with others to exchange information
  • Constantly repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools
  • Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
  • Occasionally work in tight and confined spaces
  • Light work that includes constantly moving objects up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift and move objects weighing 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed)

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
  • Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.

Starting Pay Rate: $17.00 - $19.75
