VOLUNTEER POSITION: Volunteer at HSU
DEPARTMENT: Hardin-Simmons University
LOCATION: Abilene

SUMMARY/SCOPE: Volunteers who desireto serve at HSU by helping current faculty and staff are needed in areasincluding, but not limited to: athletics, cheer, dance, band, and/or invarious academic areas. Volunteers may be needed to assist with clericalsupport, spiritual support (calling and praying with and for our campusfaculty/staff and potential students), homecoming, various campus events,transporting students, etc.
VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (AS VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE ALLOWS):
Generalresponsibilities are as follows: assist with the daily conduct of business onthe university campus and help serve where needed.
Exhibittrustworthiness and honesty in work and participation with those interactingwith Hardin-Simmons University.
Volunteershave a direct impact on our campus and our HSU family.
Allresponsibilities and duties are voluntary and are scheduled only if a volunteeris available and desires to perform the duties.
Allvolunteers are required to pass a criminal background check, MVR (Motor VehicleRecord Check), and complete Child Protection Training when working with minors.
HSUwill review each volunteer application prior to approval.
Acurrent photo ID will be required to be on file for all approved HSUvolunteers.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Volunteers must be able toconnect to the internet or have access to a phone for communications.
TRAVEL/TIME REQUIREMENTS:
Shifts are based on thevolunteer's availability, but is limited to less than 15 - 20 hours per week (onor off campus).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Standing and minimum liftingmay be required (up to 20 - 25 lbs. or less).
Shifts may be indoorsor outdoors.
