Job description

Join our team of dedicated Lifeguards and help create a fun, safe aquatics environment: CHANGE LIVES. INCLUDING YOURS.

As a Lifeguard at our YMCA, you will have the opportunity to serve as a leader, assure swimmer safety and create a positive aquatics atmosphere for pool users.

Thea Alme, Lifeguard & Swim Instructor said, "I love my job because I have the opportunity to teach people how to be safe & confident in & around the water! Being able to get to know all the lovely people that come to exercise in the mornings has been a wonderful start to each of my days!"

In this role, you can look forward to:

  • Ensuring safety in and around the pool area
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies
  • Maintaining a clean, safe pool area
  • Communicating appropriately with parents, participants and members

Ability to Also Teach Swim Lessons Preferred

Full Time Opportunity Available:

  • Tuesday-Friday, 4:00 pm-9:15 pm
  • Saturday, 9:00 am-6:00 pm

We are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and Lifeguard experience preferred. The YMCA offers FREE Lifeguard Certification Classes to those who commit to working at the YMCA upon completion of certification. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness and demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
