Job Summary:
Designs by Sundown is looking for a lead climber foreperson with at least 3 years of climbing experience. Candidate should be passionate about Arboriculture with a desire to continue their education in the field. This position will lead a crew to ensure the highest standards of tree care and client satisfaction. Designs by Sundown is dedicated to preserving the health and beauty of trees in our community. Key Responsibilities:
• Execute Lead Climber responsible for the training of crews including ground team and new climbers to ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices.
• Provide proficient rope and saddle climbing, bucket truck operation, areal lift operations, chipper operation, onsite safety protocols, pruning, rigging, and A300 standards for tree care operations.
• Exercise extensive knowledge of tree species, pruning practices, Identification of hazards and defects and ability to safely navigate them.
• Plan and execute tree maintenance, removal, and planting projects.
• Conduct site assessments and provide recommendations for tree care services.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional client service.
• Train and mentor team members, promoting professional development and skill enhancement.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and safety inspections.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in tree climbing and arbor care.
• Strong knowledge of tree biology, diseases, pests, structural issues, treatment methods, and proper pruning techniques.
• Proficiency in the use of climbing equipment and techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
• Certified Arborist credentials from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Preferred
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in arboriculture.
• Proficient record-keeping and documentation.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
