Job Description
Purpose
The Global Logistics Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing logistics activities for large and often international projects. The role supports strategic logistics planning, daily operational coordination, risk management, and clear communication across internal teams and external partners.
Location
This role operates in a hybrid work environment, combining virtual work with on-site presence as required.
Responsibilities
Essential
  • Develop and manage end-to-end logistics strategies for international projects across energy, construction, manufacturing, and other industries.
  • Determine transportation routes, modes (air, sea, road, rail), and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare cost estimates, forecasting, and timelines for logistics activities.
  • Oversee global movement of materials, equipment, and project cargo, including oversize or specialized loads.
  • Coordinate closely with suppliers, manufacturers, freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
  • Ensure proper handling, packing, and documentation for all shipments.
  • Manage permits required for special cargo, hazardous materials, and regulated goods.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of shipping documents (B/L, COO, HS codes, and project-specific requirements).
  • Identify potential risks such as delays, customs issues, weather, or political events, and implement contingency plans.
  • Track shipments globally using KPIs, dashboards, and logistics systems; ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Manage delivery schedules with global project teams and oversee last-mile coordination at job sites.
  • Lead logistics budgeting, cost optimization, and savings initiatives while maintaining transparent reporting.
  • Optimize freight rates, container utilization, routing efficiency, and storage planning.
  • Select, negotiate, and evaluate global carriers and logistics service providers; enforce SLAs and performance standards.
  • Serve as a key liaison between engineering, procurement, and logistics functions.
  • Provide progress updates to project managers and leadership teams.
  • Lead and support logistics personnel across various regions, including training and development.
  • Drive continuous improvement through process evaluation, adoption of best practices, and introduction of useful digital tools.
  • Ensure logistics activities align with overall project goals, schedules, and budgets.

Non-Essential
  • Assist with strategic initiatives to improve transportation efficiency, trade compliance, and cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Support compliance with international trade regulations and import/export requirements.
  • Oversee warehousing, consolidation, packing, and crating activities when required.
  • Support special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or equivalent experience (minimum of 5 years in logistics or traffic within Oil & Gas or freight forwarding).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Export Administration Regulations, General Rules of Interpretation, 15 CFR, 19 CFR, and the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with U.S. trade regulations including Valuation, Duty Drawback, Foreign Trade Zones, Post-Entry Amendments, and Routed Export Transactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to support weekend work when required by project timelines.

Desired
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or similar ERP systems.
