Job description

Position Purpose:

Charis Bible College is seeking a dedicated and experienced International Admissions Counseling Lead (Designated School Official) to join our dynamic & professional team. As the International Admissions Counseling Lead, you will play a crucial role in guiding primarily international prospective students through the admissions process. This position requires a strong understanding of the college's mission and values, excellent communication skills, the ability to lead a team effectively, and a passion for helping international students achieve their educational and spiritual goals at Charis Bible College. The primary purpose is to encourage and guide primarily international applicants successfully through the Charis Bible College enrollment process from completed application to arrival on campus. This position processes and maintains all Admissions activities related to the compliance of the SEVP (student exchange visitor program), SEVIS, and state department of education requirements.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain a complete understanding of all areas of Charis Bible College and be able to articulate those areas effectively.
  • Address incoming students, potential students, and Admissions Counselors with encouragement, the Word of God, and prayer.
  • This position will also maintain the duties of an Admissions Counselor on top of the Lead role.
  • Oversee the admissions process from application completion to registration, ensuring adherence to established admissions policies and procedures.
  • Cultivate a culture that focuses on the student experience and admissions best practices.
  • Assist in building and expanding the admissions process for the "One Charis" model.
  • Work harmoniously and effectively communicate with other Charis teams in an integral, humble, and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all admissions-related activities, including student interactions, enrollment statistics, and SEVP/SEVIS compliance.
  • Responsible for international Zoom meetings & international potlucks, and other events.
  • Responsible for keeping international templates, international packets, and other documents up to date.
  • Updates and manages international relocation resources & sponsorship guide.
  • Specializes in Admissions compliance for the SEVP (Student Exchange Visitor Program)/SEVIS.
  • Maintains compliance records for certifications and audits for SEVP/SEVIS.
  • Attend training and study regulations to maintain DSO status.
  • Updates SEVP student records to ensure accuracy and compliance with SEVIS regulations.
  • Processes all SEVP student documents and filings in a timely fashion.
  • Work in collaboration with PDSO & Registrar DSO/Compliance team to ensure an excellent student experience.
  • Stays current with DSO/SEVP regulations and information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Passion for getting international students to Charis Bible College and creating an amazing student experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with diverse populations.
  • Self-management with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with CRM software, student information systems, and other admissions-related tools.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Comprehensively operate a computer and all the Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Results, detail, and customer service oriented, with outstanding professionalism.
  • Ability to lead a team that works a flexible schedule at times, as well as attend conferences and events that occur on campus throughout the year, which may occur during evenings and weekends.
  • Proven ability to appropriately prioritize and accomplish simultaneous objectives, recognizing, discipling, and leveraging the skills of others to accomplish them in a timely manner.
  • Proven ability to effectively implement processes & systems.
  • Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Charis Bible College.

Requirements:

  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Must sign the Statement of Faith.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent education is required.
  • Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred.
  • Must pass all required checks.

Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of administrative experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of customer service is preferred.
  • Previous experience in admissions counseling for Charis Bible College is preferred.
  • Previous work experience with internationals is preferred.
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience.
