Job description

The Manager, International Accounting will oversee a team that supports EOG's current international operations as well as any new ventures. The position is located in Houston, TX, with the key responsibilities below:

  • Oversee a team of approximately 10 employees and contractors, with oversight of:
    • Accounting for revenue, volumes, expenses, capital expenditures and intercompany transactions
    • Vendor onboarding and accounts payable
    • Contract reviews for proper accounting
    • Monthly forecasting and budgeting
    • Staff development and mentoring
  • Work closely with management and commercial teams to provide support on accounting, forecasting, and financial analysis for current operations as well as potential transactions.
  • Work closely with local, in-country accounting teams to ensure accuracy of financial data, forecasts, and analyses passed to corporate.
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Financial Reporting team to ensure accuracy of financial data and variance analyses.
  • Manage monthly management financial statement preparation, analyzing variances from forecast, and reporting significant issues.
  • Prepare ad-hoc presentations to the executive management team.
  • Oversee compliance with accounting policies and procedures and internal controls.
  • Coordinate communications with internal and external auditors.

  • Bachelor's in accounting degree, CPA preferred
  • 8+ years of international oil and gas accounting experience
  • 5+ years supervisory/managerial experience
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply US GAAP/IFRS and understanding of statutory reporting requirements
  • Experience in accounting in multiple currencies
  • Detail oriented; with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Self-motivated with strong management, analytical and coordination skills, including multi-location coordination skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing and heavily active organization
  • Strong communications skills
  • Willingness to travel to international offices
  • Strong Excel skills required
 
Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
